I've been told picture books of this kind are typically less than 800 words. The one I'm working on is 24 pages, although some of those are treated as individual pages and others are done as double-wide page spreads.
I'll be taking another run at getting in the wheelchair again later this week now that I'm feeling better. Fingers crossed that it goes better this time.
